
As the name suggests, the Olym-Pick self-service restaurant is located in the x-bionic sphere sports resort, which provides facilities for training in 27 Olympic sports. The dining capacity is approximately 350 guests. Given the project requirements, we designed the space to maintain maximum variability while simultaneously separating individual seating zones. The layout is defined by sliding wooden screens, high and low benches, as well as a selection of colors and various types of furniture. The flooring was pre-determined, matching the adjacent areas of the building. We decided to use warming light oak wood, paired with a bold, contrasting combination of orange, blue, and yellow. The wood appears in solid form on the screens and in a milled version on the serving counters, where the cladding also serves to ventilate the equipment. We fulfilled the concept of a multifunctional gastro facility with a leasable restaurant by ensuring the central seating zone can be partitioned off using the screens, creating a "space within a space."
