We designed this weekend house for a family that enjoys hosting guests, which is why it features a spacious living area and comfortable separate wings—one for the parents and one for their daughter. The interior layout is reflected in the building's massing, which appears from the outside as three separate houses. This is a symbolic reference to traditional rural buildings arranged around a common courtyard. While parts of the house feature pitched roofs, any similarity to traditional architecture ends there. The selected materials and construction details are contemporary and minimalist in nature. The living area is located at the center of both the layout and the massing, housed within the largest of the three structures. It is an open-plan space that also boasts the highest ceiling height, featuring an exposed roof truss that serves as an interior highlight. The interior is minimalist at its core, though its character is gradually evolving into an eclectic style in collaboration with the clients, which we are very pleased about. On either side are two smaller volumes dedicated to the residents' private zones, including bedrooms, a study, a sauna, and a wellness area. The clients' requirements resulted in a house whose massing solution perfectly reflects its internal layout. A pleasant bonus is the connection between the living area and the outdoor pool, whose simple shape and sliding terrace cover correspond with the architecture of the house and the concept of the garden.
